Managing Servers

A "server" in NginxWatch is one Nginx instance reporting through a connected agent.

What NginxWatch monitors per server

Pulled from Nginx's stub_status module and the agent's log tailing:

  • Active connections — currently open
  • Reading / Writing / Waiting — connection states from stub_status
  • Requests, Accepts, Handled — cumulative counters (NginxWatch computes requests/sec from the delta)
  • Average and p95 response time — derived from access log sampling, when available

Adding a server

Servers are discovered automatically when an agent registers — you don't add them by hand. Point your agent's config at the Nginx instance you want monitored (its stub_status URL and config path), enroll the agent (see Agents and Enrollment), and it appears in your dashboard within seconds.

Enabling / disabling a server

If you want to stop monitoring a server without removing the agent entirely, use the enable/disable toggle in the server's detail panel. Disabled servers stop showing in the live view but keep their history.

Server limits by plan

Your plan caps how many servers can be actively monitored at once: Free = 1, Starter = 3, Professional = 10, Enterprise = unlimited. See Billing and Plans.
