NGINXwatch

Self-hosted edition

Upgrading, backups and removal

Upgrading

Install the new package over the old one:

sudo dnf upgrade ./nginx-monitor-*.x86_64.rpm

The service restarts on the new version. Settings, users, license and history in /var/lib/nginx-monitor and /etc/nginx-monitor are kept. Upgrade agents the same way with the nginx-agent package; they reconnect by themselves.

Backups

Everything that belongs to you is in two directories. Back them up together:

sudo tar -czf nginx-monitor-backup-$(date +%F).tar.gz /var/lib/nginx-monitor /etc/nginx-monitor

To restore: install the same or a newer package, stop the service, extract the archive over /, and start the service again.

Removing

sudo dnf remove nginx-monitor

The service stops and its license seat is released. Your data in /var/lib/nginx-monitor is kept; delete it yourself if you don't need it:

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/nginx-monitor /etc/nginx-monitor
